A Couple of Immigrants Timeline
David
David’s journey began in Prague, Czech Republic. Raised in the heart of this enchanting city, David's adventurous spirit was ignited from a young age.
David then ventured to London to pursue his Bachelor’s degree. Immersed in the dynamic energy of the metropolis, he thrived in the diverse cultural landscape. David went on to spend the majority of his twenties studying, working and traveling around the world. (Don’t ask him about it, he loooooves talking about each, and every place).
Eager to further his education in a new city David set his sights on Asia for graduate school.
David's journey eventually led him to the United States, where he embarked on a new chapter of his life. Settling in the vibrant city of San Francisco and making it down to Los Angeles, where he met Amada.
Amada
Amada's journey began in Guatemala City surrounded by close friends and extensive family. But at the age of 12, she embarked on a new adventure in California.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, Amada discovered a whole new world, with opportunities and experiences she had never imagined. She also got to fully take on her big sister role, which was her dream since she was young. She eventually had to leave the nest to start her new adventure attending university in Los Angeles, CA.
After years of traveling for work and moving across the US, yearning to reconnect with her roots, Amada embarked on a journey that led her back to her childhood home in Guatemala. Immersed in the flavors of her grandma’s cooking, she found solace in the memories of her past and the promise of her future.
This gave her the confidence to move back to Los Angeles, and start her entrepreneurial journey which led her to give a presentation at a startup in Beverly Hills, CA…
When they met
In the heart of the Big Apple, amidst the hustle and bustle of city life, they experienced falling in love with each other and the city at the same time. And it was in this vibrant city that David decided to take their love to new heights, whisking Amada away on a trip to Prague to visit his family.
Underneath the romantic glow of the city lights, right by the Charles Bridge, David dropped to one knee, surrounded by his family. And Amada said YES… of course.
They are now based in Los Angeles, California.
It was April 2022. Little did Amada know that she would then present to her future husband this day. This night would mark the beginning of a journey she could never have imagined.
She showed up to the event venue to present to a group of strangers and David was among them. To get away from the madness of the event David went to hide in the kitchen only to find Amada doing the same.
What started as a quick kitchen encounter turned into hours of conversation. And David went on to ask her on a date…

When they fell in love…
Their first date felt like they had known each other for years. From a hike at Los Liones Trail, to a quaint restaurant in Pacific Palisades, and drinks at the Proper Hotel’s Rooftop (where they filmed the Save The Date video) they were enthralled by each other from the start.
Their night didn't end there; they ventured to the Victorian, for salsa dancing. And as the night drew to a close, David and Amada knew that they had stumbled upon something rare. From that moment on, they were inseparable, embarking on a journey that would take them from the sun-soaked streets of Los Angeles to the dreamy New York City.
